REGULAR MEETING MARCH 23, 2015

Councilmember Davis – I would like to address the Committee, as when we first talked about the
park several years ago, a lot of the concern was that it would be an innovation park. Now you
can see where the city has taken a serious interest with the park and I believe this will help grow
it. You can now see the investment come in the area, so I’m excited to see this area starting to
grow. Thank you.

There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to
this bill, Councilmember Dieter made a motion for favorable recommendation to full Council
concerning this bill. Councilmember Oliver Davis seconded the motion which carried by a voice
vote of nine (9) ayes.

03-15 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL TO VACATE THE FOLLOWING
DESCRIBED PROPERTIES: ALL PUBLIC ALLEYS AND STREETS
BOUNDED BY KEMBLE STREET ON THE WEST, THE NORFOLK &
SOUTHERN RAILROAD (OLD PENN CENTRAL RR) ON THE NORTH,
SCOTT STREET ON THE EAST AND INDIANA AVENUE ON THE SOUTH
ALL IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
Councilmember Schey Chairperson, Public Works & Property Vacation Committee, met earlier
this afternoon on this bill and sends it to the full Council with a favorable recommendation.

Petitioner: Mike Danch – 1643 Commerce Drive, South Bend – I’m from Danch Harner &
Associates representing the City of South Bend.
