RSON RI.V 1)., ROO SI 1140 COU NT Y -CITY BUI I.D IND, SO U'I "If BI D, INDIANA 46601 (S74) 235.5571 <br />Wednesday, February 18, 2015 X3 I- `I <br />The Honorable Council of the City of South Bend Q <br />4th Floor, County -City Building <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />RE: A proposed ordinance of the City of South Bend Department of Community Investment to zone from SF2 <br />Single Family and Two Family District, MU Mixed Use District, GB General Business District, LB Local <br />Business District and MFl Urban Corridor Multifamily District to LI Light Industrial District, property <br />located at portions of 500, 600, 700 800, 900 blocks of Indiana Avenue, portions of the 1500 blocks of Prairie <br />Avenue, Kemble Street, Catalpa Street, Chapin Street, Kendall Street, Scott Street and Taylor Street, City of <br />South Bend - APC# 2730 -15. <br />Dear Council Members: <br />1 hereby Certify that the above referenced ordinance of City of South Bend Department of Community Investment <br />was legally advertised on Thursday, February 05, 2015 and that the Area Plan Commission at its public hearing on <br />Tuesday, February 17, 2015 took the following action: <br />Upon a motion by John DeLee, being seconded by Oliver Davis and unanimously carried, the <br />proposed ordinance of the City of South Bend Department of Community Investment to zone from <br />SF2 Single Family and Two Family District, MU Mixed Use District, GB General Business District, <br />LB Local Business District and MFl Urban Corridor Multifamily District to LI Light Industrial <br />District, property located at portions of 500, 600, 700 800, 900 blocks of West Indiana Avenue, <br />portions of the 1,500 blocks of Prairie Avenue, Kemble Street, Catalpa Street, Chapin Street, Kendall <br />Street, Scott Street and Taylor Street, City of South Bend, is sent to the Common Council with a <br />FAVORABLE recommendation. The zoning of this area to an industrial classification is the next step <br />in a process that began in the 1990's. The zoning will allow development to occur that is compatible <br />with Ignition Park and support additional reinvestment opportunities in the neighborhood. <br />The deliberations of the Area Plan Commission and points considered in arriving at the above decision are shown <br />in the minutes of the public hearing, and will be forwarded to you at a later date to be made a part of this report. <br />Sincerely, <br />Lawrence P.
