Substitute Bill No. 17 -14 <br />Responsible Animal and Pet Ownership Cage and Control Regulation Ordinance <br />Page 40 <br />Pet owners who have all of their dogs/cats altered shall be entitled to register their altered animals for a <br />Residential Pet Reizistration for All Altered Animal Non - Commercial Site Permit. Such ermit may be <br />issued upon the owner signing an affidavit, under pains. and Penalties for perjury, whicb verifies the <br />altered animal status of each animal, and which requires the owner to list the rabies. vaccination number <br />assigned to each altered animal which verifies that said rabies vaccinations) are current for each such <br />altered animal. The fees for Residential Pet Registration for All Altered Animal Non - Commercial Site <br />Permit shall be as follows: <br />Altered Doe and /or Cat Ten (10) month or older37 <br />Number of Altered Dogs and /or Cats Fee <br />1 _ - $ 15.00 annuallv <br />2 -4 <br />$ 25.00 annually <br />5 -8 <br />$ 50.00 annually <br />9 -12 <br />$ 100.00 annually <br />13 -16 <br />$125.00 annually <br />17 -19 <br />$150.00 annuall <br />All et owners have the responsibility to keep all of the information which they provide on the <br />. pr „de to the Division of Animal Care and Control <br />apt�lieation for registration or permit which then provi,,,..,. <br />current, with any changes being required to be given upon the effect date of such chance <br />{b} Additional fees: <br />(4) Replacement tags $5.00 per tag <br />(5) Late fee applied to r-efiewal mefe than 30 days past expir-ation $5.00 <br />Late fee when more than thirty (30) days late ,$15.00 additional <br />(e) Limited Exemptions: <br />(6) 1. Threat to Health ofAnimal: Upon a written statement from a licensed veterinarian <br />setting forth that the neutering of the animal shall constitute a threat to the health of that animal, the <br />payment of the permit fee for unaltered animal shall not be required but the animal shall be classified as <br />an altered animal for purposes of permit registration and fees. Registration at the altered tag price under <br />this section will constitute agreement not to breed the animal. Doing so will result in fines. <br />(7) 2. Service Animal Exemption: A person who is impaired by: <br />a. Blindness or any other visual impairment; <br />b. Deafness or any other aural impairment; <br />C. A physical disability; or <br />" In Rule 5, Section 2 of "Required Rabies Vaccination of Dogs, Cats and Ferrets" codified at 345 Indiana Administrative <br />Code 1 -5 -2, it specifically states in part that "... all dogs, cats and ferrets three (3) months of age and older must be vaccinated <br />against rabies ", with revaccination of ferrets within twelve (12) months of the prior vaccination, and dogs and cats being <br />revaccinated based on the rabies vaccine which was used requiring annual boosters, or a booster 12 months later and tri- <br />annually thereafter, or within. thirty -six (36) months. <br />
