JOSEPH STREET <br /> <br />This bill had first reading. Councilmember Puzello made a motion to refer this bill to the <br />Public Works and Property Vacation Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third <br />Reading on August 25, 2008. Councilmember Oliver Davis seconded the motion which <br />carried by a voice vote of seven (7) ayes. <br /> <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />BILL NO. 07-67 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE <br /> ADOPTION OF A DECLARATORY <br /> RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN <br /> AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, COMMONLY <br /> KNOWN AS 1840 NORTH COMMERCE <br /> DRIVE AS AN ECONOMIC <br /> REVITALIZATION AREA FOR <br /> PURPOSES OF A SEVEN (7) YEAR <br /> REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT <br /> FOR STANZ FOOD SERVICE, INC. <br /> <br />Councilmember LaFountain made a motion to refer this bill to the Community and <br />Economic Development Committee and set it for Public Hearing and third Reading on <br />August 25, 2008. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice <br />vote of seven (7) ayes. <br /> <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Councilmember Oliver Davis stated that he is the Council representative for TRANSPO <br />and that they have been undergoing their budget process. He stated that TRANSPO’s <br />goal for 2009 is not to raise fairs. Councilmember Oliver Davis stated that they are <br />currently .75 cents one way. <br /> <br /> <br />Council President Rouse advised that the Council has held many budget meeting the past <br />few weeks. He noted that they are still going through wage negotiations with the Police <br />and Fire Departments. President Rouse stated that they are still getting information from <br />various departments and will be scheduling additional meetings.
