<br />We,.the undersigned, do hereby respectfully make application
<br />and petition the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana,
<br />to amend the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend as herein -
<br />after requested, and in.support of the application, the following
<br />facts are shown:
<br />1. That this petition amends the petition heretofore filed,
<br />and requests that the property hereinafter described be rezoned to
<br />B- Residential, instead of C- Commercial.
<br />2, The property sought to be rezoned consists of multiple
<br />parcels of property on the South side of East Jefferson Boulevard,
<br />said parcels being on the East and West side of 35th Street in
<br />South Bend, Indiana; and more commonly located in the 3500 and 3600
<br />block of East Jefferson Boulevard.
<br />3. The property is owned by Whitmore Corporation, 3618 East
<br />Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana.
<br />4. The legal description of the parcels to be rezoned are as
<br />follows:
<br />SECTION A, LYING ON THE EAST SIDE OF 35TH STREET
<br />Lot 1, the South half of Lot 8, the South half of Lot 9, Lots 13,
<br />14, and 15 of Plat of Fernwood, City of South Bend, .Indiana.
<br />SECTION & BEING WEST OF 35TH STREET
<br />Lots 6, 71 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 of Jerome's
<br />First Addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana; and,
<br />A parcel of property adjacent to Jerome's First Addition and
<br />described as follows:
<br />A part of the North Half (2) of the Southeast Quarter
<br />of Section Eight (8), Township Thirty -seven (37) North,
<br />Range Three (3) East, which part is bounded by a line
<br />running as follows, viz: Beginning on the North line
<br />of the right -of -way of the Grand Trunk Western Railway
<br />Company which point is 308.32 feet East of the inter-
<br />_
<br />section of the East line of 32nd Street in the City of
<br />South Bend, and the North line of the said right -of -way
<br />of the Grand Trunk.Western Railway Company, thence East
<br />from said point of beginning along the North line of
<br />said railroad right -of -way 145.83 feet, more or less,
<br />to the Southwest corner of Lot 18, as shown on the
<br />recorded Plat of Jerome's First Addition to the City
<br />of South Bend, thence North 190.23 feet to the South -
<br />west corner of Lot 7 as shown on the recorded Plat of
<br />Jerome's First Addition, thence West 148 feet, more or
<br />less, to the Northeast corner of a tract of land conveved
<br />by the grantors herein to the St. Joseph County Chapter
<br />of the National Red Cross on December 11, 1967; thence
<br />South 190 feet, more or less, to the place of beginning.
