1284 REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 25, 1957 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CERTAIN PAYMENTS TO BE MADE TO SALARIED CITY EMPLOYEES. WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana, is approaching the close of its fiscal year; and, WHEREAS, the office of the City Controller will be required to make numerous payments and close its numerous and complicated accounts; and, WHEREAS, it is desirable that the work of said office be simplified; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana; SECTION I. That all salaried officers and employees of the City shall be paid their salaries for the month of December, 1957, on the 20th day of said month. SECTION 2. The Controller of the City of South Bend is hereby authorized to make said salary payments upon said date. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. /s/ Chester Muszynski . Member of the Common Council Councilman Muszynski made a motion for adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried by.a vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. Resolution adopted. OLD BUSINESS: Councilman Kroll stated that he wished to thank the Board of Public Works and Safety for the information they have given him on the Hancock Street project. Councilman Kroll then made a motion that the City Attorney investigate the private alleys shown on the Hancock Street plat, to see whether an easement can be granted. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried and the matter was referred to the Streets and Alleys committee for further study. NEW BUSINESS: Councilman Tellson asked that the Board of Public Works and Safety be instructed to.give immediate attention to the deplorable condition existing in the alleys in the four hundred block of North Eddy Street and to report to the Council at the December 9, 1957 meeting. Councilman Hahn asked.that a copy of a request by several residents in the area of Oak Park Drive and Ironwood Road to maintain the "A" Residential Zoning Classificiation of that area, be referred to the Board of Zoning Appeals, for appropriate act4on. There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Kroll made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Regular meeting of the Common Council adjourned at 8:46 P.M. ATTEST: APPROY:
