1284 <br />REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 25, 1957 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CERTAIN PAYMENTS <br />TO BE MADE TO SALARIED CITY EMPLOYEES. <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana, is approaching the close of its fiscal year; and, <br />WHEREAS, the office of the City Controller will be required to make numerous payments and close its <br />numerous and complicated accounts; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable that the work of said office be simplified; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana; <br />SECTION I. That all salaried officers and employees of the City shall be paid their salaries for the month of <br />December, 1957, on the 20th day of said month. <br />SECTION 2. The Controller of the City of South Bend is hereby authorized to make said salary payments upon said <br />date. <br />SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br />/s/ Chester Muszynski . <br />Member of the Common Council <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion for adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried by.a vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. Resolution adopted. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Councilman Kroll stated that he wished to thank the Board of Public Works and Safety for the information they have <br />given him on the Hancock Street project. Councilman Kroll then made a motion that the City Attorney investigate the <br />private alleys shown on the Hancock Street plat, to see whether an easement can be granted. Councilman Muszynski <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried and the matter was referred to the Streets and Alleys committee for further <br />study. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />Councilman Tellson asked that the Board of Public Works and Safety be instructed to.give immediate attention to the <br />deplorable condition existing in the alleys in the four hundred block of North Eddy Street and to report to the <br />Council at the December 9, 1957 meeting. <br />Councilman Hahn asked.that a copy of a request by several residents in the area of Oak Park Drive and Ironwood <br />Road to maintain the "A" Residential Zoning Classificiation of that area, be referred to the Board of Zoning Appeals, <br />for appropriate act4on. <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Kroll made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Hahn <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Regular meeting of the Common Council adjourned at 8:46 P.M. <br />ATTEST: APPROY: <br />
