REGULAR MEETING
<br />OCTOBER 14, 1957
<br />23 September 1957 and given public hearing under date of 3 October, 1957. The following action was taken:
<br />After due consideration the Commission found that:
<br />1. The Commercial zoning of Lots 23, 24 and the west 12 feet of Lot 22 in Evans Subdivision of
<br />B.O.L. 88 as above would constitute spot zoning and would therefore be illegal.
<br />2. There was no need for additional commercial zoning in the general area, that commercial zoning in the
<br />general area,.that commercially zoned vacant land now existed which was not used commercially.
<br />3. The granting of the petition would tend to create strip zoning.
<br />4. The best use of subject property now and in the immediate future would be residential use and
<br />that the area immediately surrounding subject property was now used single family residential.
<br />It was therefore duly moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the petition be recommended unfavorably.

<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Carr made.a motion for sus-
<br />pension of rules. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays,
<br />1 absent (Councilman Muszynksi). The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of
<br />8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Muszynski).

<br />The - Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Hahn made a motion for sus-
<br />pension of rules. Councilman Carr seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays,
<br />1 absent (Councilman Muszynski). The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of
<br />8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Muszynski).

<br />OFFICER, $80.00, ALL OF THE BUDGET FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND,

<br />$1200.002 ALL OF THE BUDGET FOR THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />INDIANA, FOR 1957 AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY.
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Carr made a motion that the

<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Carr made a motion that the
<br />Ordinance be set for public hearing on October 28, 1957. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried.
