REGULAR MEETING <br />OR DINANC E <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 55 AND 59 OF CHAPTER <br />29 OF ORDINANCE 3709 APPROVED JULY 12, 1949, COMMONLY <br />KNOW AS ^MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, 1949. <br />JULY 14TH. 1952 <br />• • <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilmen Niezgodski made a motion <br />to refer the ordinance to the Committee of the Whole. Councilman Korpal seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the Contract heretofore entered <br />into by and between the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and the Rieth -Riley <br />Construction-Company of South Bend, Indiana, for the re- surface paving of CHAPIN STREET from the south line of <br />Washington Avenue to.t he northwesterly line of Prairie Avenue for the contract price of Eighty thousand, nine <br />hundred sixty -nine dollars and no cents ($80,969.00) is confirmed and approved. <br />(Signed) WALTER C. Douhellman Korpal seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the Board of Public Works report to the Council at their next meeting on <br />July 28th on what is being done about the East Jefferson Boulevard sewer. Councilman Korpal seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the City Attorney notify the Chief of Police and he in turn notify the <br />Desk Sargeant in regard to calls received relative to enforcing ordinance regarding sprinklers setting in center <br />of sidewalks. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to adjourn, which motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Muszynski.
