Ordinance.adopted. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 31 <br />An Ordinance appropriating the sum of Seven Thousand Four Hundred and Ninety -One Dollars <br />($7,491.00) from the General Fund of the Department of Public Parks of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, to said Department for the purchase of real estate and materip.l for its Riverside Park- <br />way Project. <br />The Ordinance was given; its first reading by title,-its second reading in full and on motion <br />of Councilman Chambers was referred to the Committee of the Whole, and also that a public hear - <br />ing b e held on the 11th dad.% of Mp-y, 1936. Councilman Goetz seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, The American Legion Post No. 50 of South Bend, Indiana, proposes to hold a boot <br />race on the St. Joseph River Sunday afternoon, May 24th, 1936, and <br />WHEREAS, in order to-effectua_ly realize any funds by reason of said boat race it is necessa <br />to charge ..a small admission fee to the place and /or places of vantage along the proposed route <br />of said boat race; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to charge an admission fee to the place and /or places of #anta ,qe along the <br />proposed route of said boat race it is necessary to control the ingress to said. place and /or-plae <br />and_. <br />WHEREAS, in order to control the ingress to said places and /or places of vantage it is ;jec- <br />essary to temporarily block off the ends of certain streets snd/or-evenues in the City of South <br />Bend; therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that by and with th <br />consent of the Board of Public Safety and- the Board of Park Commissioners of said City, the <br />American Legion_Fost No. 50 is hereby authorized and permitted_ to block off for a temporary perio <br />on Sunday May ?4th, 1936, the South ends of South St. Louis Boulevard, South St. Peter Street, <br />South Notre Dame Avenue, South St. Frances Street -, the South Eddy - Street entrance to L,a$alle Park, <br />and the intersections of Arch Avenue and East Monroe Streets with Edgewater Drive. <br />_ Geo.
