COMMUNITY INVESTMENT COMMITTEE JULY 22, 2013 <br />4:50 P.M. <br />Committee Members Present: Gavin Ferlic, Valerie Schey, Henry Davis, <br />Dr. Fred Ferlic <br />Citizen Members: Janeen Crane (Absent) Patrick Mullin <br />Other Council Members Present: Tim Scott, Oliver Davis, <br />Dr. David Varner (Excused Absence), Karen White, <br />Derek Dieter <br />Other's Present: Sean Meehan, Kathy Hahn, Cecil Eastman, Joel Dosmann, <br />Terrance Meehan, Jitin Cain <br />Agenda: Bill No. 13 -46 — Tax Abatement — 773 Pulling <br />Bill No. 13 -47 — Tax Abatement 1047 LWE (Personal Property) <br />Bill No. 14 -48 — Tax Abatement 1047 LWE (Real Property) <br />All Councilmember's serving on the Community Investment Committee as well as one <br />citizen member were present as Chairperson Gavin Ferlic called the meeting to order <br />Three resolutions were posed on the agenda all petitions for tax abatement. The first was <br />Bill No. 13 -46, a petition seeking approval of a 5 year residential abatement for a home at <br />773 Pulling Street. Being built by Joel and Katherine Dosmann. Kathy Hahn from the <br />Community Investment (CI) Department reported the particulars of the petition not all <br />requirements had been met qualifying the application for approval. The petitioner Joel <br />Dosmann was present to briefly describe the project and answer any questions. The <br />Council's technical questions were answered to their satisfaction. With that Henry Davis <br />motioned the Bill be sent to full Council favorably. Dr. Fred Ferlic seconded the motion <br />and all agreed. <br />The second and third agenda items Bill Nos. 13 -47 and 13 -48 were for personal and real <br />abatement respectively. The bills were for the same property at 1047 Lincolnway East. <br />For review and public hearing both bills were to be considered together. The property <br />1047 LWE was a former VFW Post now vacant which the petitioners purchased hoping <br />to create a brew -pub under the name Crooked Ewe, Inc. <br />Per usual Kathy Hahn described the particulars of both petitions in terms of jobs created, <br />21 full time, and taxes generated over the life of the abatements $20,000.Following brief <br />discussion Valerie Schey motioned both petitions be sent favorably to full Council. Dr. <br />Ferlic seconded and all supported. <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee at this time, Chairperson <br />Gavin Ferlic adjourned the meeting at 5:04 p.m. <br />
