CLOW & SONS, INC., FOR THE PURCHASE OF CAST IRON WATER MAIN PIPES AND FITTINGS IN THE SUM OF $72,385.00. The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman - Palmer made a motion that the ordinance be set for public hearing on April 27, 1965. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 4741 - -65 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND CITY WATER WORKS AND THE AMERICAN PAINTING CO., INC., FOR CLEANING AND PAINTING OF THE WATER WORKS ELEVATED WATER TANK AT THE SOUTH FELLOW STREET BOOSTER PUMPING STATION The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Geib made a motion for suspension -6f rules. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes -2 absent (Councilmen Hunter and Glass). ORDINANCE, FIRST & SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND CITY WATER WORKS AND THE ADVANCE CONSTRUCTION CO., INC., FOR TWO 16 -INCH INSERTING VALVES, THREE 6 -INCH INSERTING VALVES, TWO 8 -INCH INSERTING VALVES AND TWO 4 -INCH INSERTING VALVES IN THE SUM OF $9,071.00. The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Allen made a motion that the ordinance be set for public hearing on April 27, 1965. ORDINANCE, FIRST & SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE SOUTH BEND CITY WATER WORKS AND THE MUELLER CO., FOR MECHANICAL JOINT GATE VALVES IN THE SUM OF $71292.00. The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the ordinance be set for public hearing on April 27, 1965. Councilman Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE. FIRST & SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING ($3,460.00) TO THE OFFICE OF THE CITY JUDGE FOR THE PAYMENT OF A BAILIFF; SAID ($3,460.00) TO BE A TRANSFER FROM POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET ACCOUNT P -11 TO ACCOUNTS E -11 AND E -215, OFFICE OF THE CITY JUDGE, ALL WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND. Councilman Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE, FIRST & SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE GENERAL IMPROVEMENT FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $41,901.17. The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Smith made a motion that the ordinance be set for public hearing on April 27, 1965. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE, FIRST & SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS TO THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT ACCOUNTS XX263, XX71, XX722, AND XX73 IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $34,500.00. The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Geib made a motion that the ordinance be set for public hearing on April 27, 1965. Councilman Smith seconded the motion. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS Councilman Smith made a motion that the Clerk see to it that the public address system is put in proper working order for the next meeting on April 27th. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Geib informed the Council that he must be in Detroit on business and will not be able to attend the meeting on April 27th.
