For example, we <br />have now in planning three projects and two projects in execution. The likelihood of any of those in planning <br />to become projects in execution is very uncertain but most probable. As it now stands, the Urban Renewal <br />Department budget shows a city shard which is $11,960 less than that of last year. It would seem highly <br />unwise to contemplate further reductions. <br />FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES COMMISSION <br />The budget of the Fair Employment Practices Commission is reasonably presented. <br />Councilman Hunter made a motion that the Report of Ways and Means Committee be accepted and the ordinance go <br />to the Council as favorable, as amended. Councilman Wise seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Int,orderc!to allow the Controller time to compute tpe Tax Levy on the revised budget, Councilman Geib made a <br />motion that the Council recess. Councilman Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Committee of <br />the Whole Meeting recessed at 9:50 P.M. The_Committee of the hole reconvened at 10 :40 P.M. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES AND FIXING THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF RAISING REVENUE TO MEET THE NECESSARY EXPENSE FOR <br />THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1965. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. <br />Councilman Geib made a motion to amend the Tax Levy as follows: General Fund by striking 1.875 and inserting <br />1.798 ; Park Maintenance Fund by striking .315 and inserting .299; Street and Traffic Fund by striking .024 <br />and .02; City Planning Commission Fund by striking .018 and inserting .017. Councilman Smith seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. Councilman Hunter made'a motion that the Tax Levy Ordinance go to the Council as <br />favorable, as amended. Cbuncilman Wise seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Committee of the Whole, Councilman Hunter made a motion to adjourn. <br />Councilman Wise seconded the motion.
