�!8 <br />REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 24 1964 <br />REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend February 18, 1964 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of the Belleville Investment Company, Inc. to zone "B" Residential Use and <br />Area District a tract of land being generally described as extending along the south right -of -way <br />Washington Street from Summit Drive to Lombardy was legally advertised under date of January 27, <br />public hearing on February 6, 1964. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the proposed zoning would <br />tend to create a buffer between the commercial property to the south and the <br />school and homes to the north. Hamilton to rezone from "A" Residential Use and "A" Height and <br />Area District to "B" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District the property being generally described as <br />south of Lathrop Street, west of Johnson Street and east of Huey Street was legally advertised under date of' <br />January 27, 1964 and given public hearing on February 6, 1964. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the proposed change <br />is in the best interest of the area. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE, THIRD READING <br />AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING DISCRIMINATION IN REAL PROPERTY BECAUSE <br />OF RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN4 , OR ANCESTRY BY CERTAIN OWNERS, <br />SELLERS, RENTERS, LESSORS, GRANTORS, LESSEES, GRANTEES, ASSIGNEES, <br />MIMGING AGENTS, REAL ESTATE BROKERS, REAL ESTATE SALESMEN, LENDERS, <br />AND OTHERS, PROVIDING FOR THE RENAMING OF THE SOUTH BEND FAIR <br />EMPLOYMENT PRACTICE COMMISSION, PRESCRIBING ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND <br />POWERS, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and lost,by a roll call vote of 0 ayes - 9 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4628 - -- 64 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO, 4459 -62 BEING AN ORDINANCE <br />ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS. <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion for <br />suspension of rules. Councilman,Wise seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes - 0 nays. <br />Councilman Smith made a motion for a three minute recess. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />and Council recessed at 8:40 P.M. <br />The Regular Meeting of the Council reconvened at 8 :43 P.M. <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE N0. 3702 <br />(Kendall, Kemble, Indiana and Calvert) <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion that <br />the ordinance be set for public hearing on March 9th, 1964. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />
