631 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 61 - - -63 <br />DECEMBER 9, 1963 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CERTAIN PAYMENTS TO BE MADE TO SALARIED EMPLOYEES OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana, is approaching the close of its fiscal year; and, <br />WHEREAS, the office of the City Controller will be required to make numerous payments and close its numerous <br />and complicated accounts; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable that the work of said office be simplified; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />1. That all salaried officers and employees of the City shall be paid their salaries for the month of December, <br />1963, on the 20th day of December, 1963. <br />2. The Controller of the City of South Bend is hereby authorized to make said salary payments upon said date. <br />3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />/s/ Harold L. Coleman <br />Member of the Common Council <br />DATED: December 9, 1963 <br />Councilman Lehman made a motion for adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Coleman seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Councilman Lehman made a motion to dispense with the December 23rd meeting of the Council. Councilman Tellson <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Krueper made a motion that the Clerk be directed to advise the City Controller that the payroll checks <br />for the second half of the month of December, 1963 for all hourly rated employees of special services, utilities, <br />and city departments be held until December 31, 1963, and be released to employees on that date if it is shown <br />that they have worked their basic hours in their respective departments. In the event any employee does not work <br />the basic hours for which he is being paid, an adjustment must be made in the total amount of the check. Councilman <br />Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />This being the last meeting of this Council, President Kroll thanked all of the members of the Council for their <br />cooperation and help during the past four years and wished the incoming Councilmen a successful term of office. <br />Councilmen Allen, Ladewski, Coleman, Krueper and Muszynski all expressed their pleasure in having worked in the <br />Council during the past four years and also extended best wishes to the incoming Councilmen. Councilman Lehman <br />said he wished to commend the.City Clerk and her Deputy for their courtesy and efficient service during the <br />past term. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Lehman made a motion to adjourn. Councilman <br />Coleman seconded the motion.
