RESOLUTION NO. 42 - - -63 (continued) <br />WHEREAS, the appearance and performance of said choir will reflect much credit upon our City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, as well as constituting another Civic contribution. <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, That they hereby <br />extend congratulations and best wishes to the St. John Missionary Baptist Church and its pastor for their continued <br />success in this and other similar efforts in the service of God and our Country. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Resolution be spread upon the records of the Council and duly authenticate <br />copies thereof be sent to the St. John Missionary Baptist Church and the Officials of said Negro Century of Progress <br />exposition in Chicago, Illinois. <br />DATED this 26th day of August, 1963. <br />/sl Harold L. Motion carried. <br />Resolution adopted by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, 8 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Lehman). <br />Councilman Allen moved that the City Clerk address a communication to the Minnesota Mining Company, The St. Johns <br />Business Machines Company and thank them for making the facilities available to project the proposed budget on the <br />screen and to commend their representative Mr. Jack Badger for his courtesy. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Coleman made ,a motion to adjourn.
