Bruggner, Mayor of the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />The Clerk read the above Resolution. A petition bearing the signatures of 32 householders remonstrating against <br />public housing on the proposed site was filed with the Clerk. <br />Proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard on this Resolution. <br />Speaking in favor of the Resolution were Robert Herron, 2235 North Johnson Street; Ralph Weissert, 1010 Oakridge; <br />Thomas Broden, Jr., 2105 Berkley Place; James P. Ulis, 715 North Arthur Street; Nancy Staszewski, 1167 Blyler Place; <br />Charles Howell, 1118 North Duey Street; Mrs. Josephine Curtis, 1053 North Elmer Street; and Renol.t L. Williams, <br />1853 North Fremont. <br />Speaking against the Resolution were the following: <br />Cecil M. Smith, 2503 Hollywood Place; Henry J. Mynsberg, 2917 Hum- <br />boldt; Frank Dave Cwidak,1239 North Elliott; Theodore Faber, 1516 Marquette Boulevard; Edmund Krzyzaniak, 2725 Bonds <br />Avenue; LaVerne K. Bolinger, 1115 North Fremont; Howard Carr, 2228 North Johnson; Betty Nemeth, 1522 North Fremont; <br />Richard Horner, 1732 North Adams; Mrs. Howard Carr, 2228 North Johnson Street. <br />Councilman Glass made a motion for a recess. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried. Council <br />recessed at 9:55 P.M. <br />The Council reconvened at 10.10 P.M. <br />Councilman Coleman made a motion to reject the Resolution. There being no second to the motion, no action was taken, <br />Councilman Lehman made a motion for adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried by a roll call vote of 7 ayes (Councilmen Kroll, Allen, Ladewski, Tellson, Krueper, Lehman and Muszynski), <br />2 nays (Councilmen Coleman and Glass). Resolution adopted. <br />There being no'futther business to come before the Council, Councilman Coleman made a motion to adjourn. Councilmar <br />Lehman seconded the motion.
