REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONTROL OF LAND SUBDIVISION AND THE <br />APPROVAL OF PLAT AND REPLAT OF LAND WITHIN THE TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE SOUTH BEND CITY PLANNING COMMISSION: <br />PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION AND REPEALING ALL'ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, Respect- <br />fully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion IT SHOULD BE put into'.the Ordinance <br />Committee for further study. <br />/s/ T. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS, (2 acres on Edison Road east of Ironwood), Respectfully report that they have <br />examined the matter and that in their opinion IT SHOULD BE REPORTED FAVORABLE. <br />March 12, 1962. /s/ T. Councilman Glass seconded the motion <br />Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4443 - - -62 <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (2 acres of land on Edison east of Ironwood) <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4444 - - -62 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS <br />HERETOFORE AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED <br />(All but the northwest corner of the block bounded by Wayne, Taylor <br />Scott and Western Avenue) <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />March 8, 1962 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of the City Planning Commission to zone the recently annexed land being more generally describ( <br />as being a parcel of land on the east side of Ironwood Road 660 feet north and south by 355 feet east and west and <br />lying 620 feet north of Edison Road "C" Commercial Use and "A" Height and Area District was legally advertised under <br />date of February 19, 1962 and given public hearing on March 1, 1962. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the property in question lies between existing commercial <br />zoning, that it was commercially zoned in the County, that there is an apparent need for additional commercial <br />zoning in the general area, and`that the best use of subject land would be commercial.
