REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE <br />ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF,SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS AMENDED (Fairs, displays, shows and exhibits), Respectfully <br />report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion IT SHOULD.BE REPORTED AS FAVORABLE. <br />/s/ T. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4434 - - -62 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS AMENDED (Fairs, displays, shows and exhibits) <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />February 9, 1962 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of the Scottish Rite of the Masonic Lodge to rezone Lots Numbered 207 and 208, as shown on <br />the Original Plat of the Town, now City of South Bend, together with the vacated alley lying between said lots <br />being more generally described as lying in the 400 block of North Lafayette Boulevard from "B" Residential Use and <br />"C" Height and Area District to "C" Commercial Use and "F" Height and Area District was legally advertised under <br />date of January 22, 1962, and given public hearing on February 1, 1962. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the proposed zoning would result in an unwarranted <br />intrusion of commercial zoning into a residential area; and further that it would not be in the <br />best interests of surrounding property. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />February 9, 1962 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of the Riverview Development Company to rezone a parcel of land in the 1900 block of Norths <br />Boulevard being bounded on the north by Northside Boulevard and on the South by the St. Joseph River from "B" <br />Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District to "B" Residential Use and "C" Height and Area District was <br />legally advertised under date of January 22, 1962 and given public hearing on February 1, 1962. The following <br />action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that substantial justice would be done by the granting of <br />the petition and that the prpoposed apartment building would be an asset to the City of South Bend. <br />It was therefore duly moved, seconded, and unanimously carried that the petition be recommended favorably <br />to the Council. <br />Very truly yours, <br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />/s/ Robert L.
