REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT $2,300.00, Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion IT SHOULD BE REPORTED FAVORABLE. /s/ T. ORDINANCE NO. 4403 - - -61 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.. 3702 COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS AMENDED (Eddy Street between Sorin and Campeau) The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 6 ayes, (Councilmen Ladewski, Tellson, Glass, Krueper, Lehman and Muszynski), 2 nays, (Councilmen Kroll and Allen) and 1 absent (Councilmean Coleman). ORDINANCE, THIRD READING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Northeast corner of Bendix Drive and Crumstown Avenue) The Ordinance was given.third reading and lost by a roll call vote of 8 nays, 0 ayes, 1 absent (Councilman Coleman). ORDINANCE NO. 4404 - - -61 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE #3702, ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL ON THE 13th DAY OF JUNE, 1949 (West side of Olive St., North of Lincolnway West) The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Coleman)I ORDINANCE NO. 4405 - - -61 AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT - $2,300.00 The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Coleman REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: October 9, 1961 The attached petition of the Common Council to rezone the property being described as beginning at the northeast corner of Bendix Drive and Ardmore Trail, thence north along the east right -of -way line of Bendix Drive for a distance of 218 feet, more or less, thence southeast parallel with the south right -of -way line of Lincoln Way West for a distance of 310 feet, more or less, to a point on the north right -of -way line of Ardmore Trail, thence southwest along the north right -of -way line of Ardmore Trail to the point of beginning from "B" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District to "C "Commercial Use and "D" Height and Area District was legally advertised under date of September 25, 1961, and given public hearing on October 5, 1961. The following action was taken: After due consideration the Commission found: 1. That the land in question is the south one -half of a triangular shaped lot the north .one -half of which is used and zoned commercially. 2. That the land in question is vacant and always has been. 3. That the best use of the land in question is commercial. ORDINANCE NO. 4406 - - -61 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 (Bendix Drive and Ardmore Trail) The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the rules be suspended. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, and 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Coleman). The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Coleman).
