REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 25, 1961 <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO..3702, <br />(Northeast corner of Bendix Drive and Crumstown Avenue), Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and <br />that in their opinion it should be tabled. <br />/s/ T. W. Lehman, Chairman <br />September 25, 1961 <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Lehman seconded the <br />motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE #3702 ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL <br />ON THE 13th day of June, 1949 (West side of Olive Street North of Lincolnway West), Respectfully report that they <br />have examined the matter and that in their opinion it should be tabled until October 9th, 1961. <br />/s/ T. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4401 - - -61 <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF <br />SOUTH BEft, INDIANA, CERTAIN LANDS (Broadmoor Swimming Pool, Inc.) <br />The Ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4402 - - -61 <br />s <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE:SOUTH BEND SEWAGE <br />TREATMENT PLANT AND INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER COMPANY FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF ONE 27,000 LB. GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT TANK TRUCK FOR <br />THE SUM OF $7,350.07 <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion for <br />suspension of the rules. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 na <br />The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9ayes and 0 nays. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE OFFICE OF <br />THE CONTROLLER $850.00 <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion that the <br />Ordinance be set for public hearing on October 23, 1961. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />President Kroll announced the appointment of the following Councilmen to serve on the newly created Parks and <br />Recreation Committee: T. W. Lehman, Chairman, and Paul E. Krueper, Jr., Eugene Ladewski, Chester Muszynski and <br />Joseph T. Kroll. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Councilman Krueper made a motion that the Committee of the Whole hold closed quarterly meetings with the Board of <br />Public Works and Safety, the City Clerk and various department heads to discuss matters pertaining to governmental <br />units and to discuss commom problems. The first meeting will be held at 7 :30 P.M., on October 9, 1961, before the <br />regular Council meeting. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Glass read a letter from Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Zangerle concerning the traffic conditions on Vine and <br />Twentieth Streets created by the Indian ay University Center. Councilman Glass made a motion that the letter be <br />to the Traffic Engineer for investigation and report. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Muszynski made a motion to adjourne. <br />Councilman Lehman seconded the motion.
