REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION September 11, 1961 The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached petition of Robert M. Edwards, et al, to zone the recently annexed property generally described as bein a parcel of land 660 feet north and south by 726 feet east and west at the northeast corner of Edison and Ironwood Roads to "C" Commercial Use District and "A" Height and Area District was legally advertised under date of August 28, 1961 and given public hearing on September 7, 1961. The following action was taken: After due consideration the Commission found that said property was originally zoned commercial while under County jurisdication and that land use to the south of said property is zoned commercial. Councilman Lehman made a motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on September 25, 1961. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried, ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702 ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL ON THE 13th DAY OF JUNE, 1949 (Olive and Lincolnway West) The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Coleman made a motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing September 25, 1961. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Muszynski made a motion for suspension of the rules. Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motion carried,by a roll call vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, 2 absent (Councilmen Glass and Allen). The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, 2 absent (Councilmen Glass and Allen). ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT - $2,300.00 The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full.
