Motion carried. <br />This being the date heretofore set for public hearing on the following Ordinance, proponents and opponents were given <br />an opportunity to be heard thereon: <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATIONG MONIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF ALL <br />BUDGET - OPERATED DEPARTMENTS OF THE CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE FISCAL <br />YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1962, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1962, INCLUDING DEPARTMENTS, <br />FUNDS AND COMMISSIONS FOR WHICH MONEY IS APPROPRIATED, IN WHOLE OR IN PART, FROM <br />FUNDS OTHER THAN THE GENERAL FUNDS,. OF SAID CITY TO -WIT: STREET, TRAFFIC AND PARK <br />DEPARTMENTS, FIREMEN'S PENSION AND POLICEMEN'S PENSION FUNDS, AND THE CITY PLAN, <br />URBAN REDEVELOPMENT AND FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICE COMMISSIONS, THE BUILDING DEMOLITION, <br />REPAIR AND CONTINGENT FUND, THE PARK DISTRICT FUND, GENERAL SINKING FUND, HOSPITAL <br />FUND, ART ASSOCIATION FUND AND THE URBAN REDEVELOPMENT BOND FUND: PROVIDING THAT <br />SUCH APPROPRIATIONS SHALL INCLUDE ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND OBLIGATIONS: FIXING THE <br />SALARIES OF ALL CITY OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF <br />ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH: PROVIDING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT, <br />AS AMENDED. <br />Those who asked to he heard and were granted permission were Miss Viriginia Guthrie, South Bend Civic Planning <br />Association and Karl D. Johnke of the Civic Planning Association. <br />The Budget was read in full and each departmental appropriation was considered individually. <br />OFFICE OF MAYOR <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Budget for the office of the Mayor be approved and go to the Council as <br />favorable. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />OFFICE OF CONTROLLER <br />COUNCILMAN KRUEPER MADE A MOTION THAT THE BUDGET FOR THE OFFICE OF THE CONTROLLER be approved and go to the Council <br />as favorable. Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />OFFICE OF CITY CLERK <br />Councilman Coleman made a motion that the budget for the office of the City Clerk be approved and go to the Council <br />as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />OFFICE OF CITY TREASURER <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that the budget for the Office of City Treasurer be approved and go to the Council <br />as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />OFFICE OF CITY JUDGE <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the budget for the office of City Judge be approved and go to the Council as <br />favorable. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />OFFICE OF THE BOARD <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Budget for the Office of the Board be approved and go to the Council as <br />favorable. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />SEWER DEPARTMENT <br />Councilman Allen made a motion that the Budget for the Sewer Department be approved and go to the Council as <br />favorable. Councilman'Krueper seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM <br />Councilman Tellson made a motion that the Budget for the Morris Civic Auditorium be approved and go to the Council <br />as favorable. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion: carried. <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Budget for the Engineering Department be approved and go to the Council <br />as favorable.
