RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, The American Legion, dedicated to service for God and Country, has become one of the great bulwar <br />o£. the American way of life through its leadership in all movements designed to promote a dynamic conviction of <br />Americanism for the preservation of our free institutions and freedoms; and <br />WHEREAS, The American - Legion with 110,000 members in Indiana who have served in three wars will celebrate <br />the anniversary of its birth, March 15 to 17, 1960, marking the completion of -41 years of patriotic labors which hav <br />had a great and beneficial impact on the welfare and security of America; now, <br />THEREFORE, we, the Common Council, City of South Bend, do h3ereby,.proclaim the week of March 13 to 19 1960, <br />as American Legion Birthday Week and do call upon all citizens and:all organizations to join in paying tribute to the <br />good works of this great veterans organization. <br />/s/ Eugene Ladewski <br />Eugene Ladewski <br />Council,-Member <br />Councilman Allen made a motion for adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Coleman seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried, Resolution adopted.' <br />Councilman Ladewski made a motion to have the next regular meeting of the Council on Tuesday, February 23, 1960, <br />since Monday, February 22, 1960 is a legal Holiday. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Coleman made a motion to adjourn.
