The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that substantial justice would be done by the favorable recommendation <br />of the ordinance. Councilman Kroll made a motion that,the <br />Ordinance be set for public hearing on July 27, 1959. Councilman Christman seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4271 - -59 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY WATER <br />WORKS OF SOUTH BEND AND UNITED HEATING AND PLUMBING COMPANY <br />FOR HEATING AND TEMPERATURE CONTROL AT THE OLIVER PARK <br />PUMPING STATION <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Kroll made a motion for sus- <br />pension of rules. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, <br />2 absent (Councilmen Korpal and Tellson). The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote <br />of 7..ayes, 0 nays, 2 absent (Councilmen Korpal and Tellson). <br />COMMUNICATION FROM MAYOR VOORDE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />I, the undersigned, Edward F. Voorde, Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as required by Chapter 107 of <br />the Acts of 1959, hereby fix the maximum salaries for the herein named appointed officers and employees of the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana, beginning January 1, 1960, and continuing thereafter until duly changed, and request that <br />such maximum salaries be approved by the Common Council. <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that the communication be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Christman seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />
