REGULAR MEETING <br />RESOLUTION <br />and, <br />89. <br />FEBRUARY 9, 1959 <br />WHEREAS, the 9th day of February, 1959, has been proclaimed as BOY SCOUT DAY in the City of South Bend, Indiana <br />WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of Tri- Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America, elected Officials amongst the Boy <br />Scouts for the various offices in the City of South Bend; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts have faithfully fulfilled their duties very efficiently and with dispatch; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council go on record as commending the Tri - Valley Council, Boy <br />Scouts of America, the various elected officials amongst the Boy Scouts, as well as the appointed officials, for <br />their service to the City of South Bend; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Common Council go on record as commending the Tri- Valley Council, Boy Scouts <br />of America, for the program instituted and trusting that it will continue this program from year to year; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Common Council realize that by this type of program, the young people of our <br />community can become better acquainted with the government of the community; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be sent to the Tri - Valley Council, Boy Scouts of <br />America, and a copy given to each elected Boy Scout Councilman and to the Boy Scout Clerk. <br />/s/ <br />Stanley C. Scheer, Deputy <br />DATED: February 9, 1959 <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion for adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Erler seconded the motion. Motion carried <br />by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. Resolution adopted. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that the Board of Public Works and Safety be ordered to close the junk yard located <br />at 2214 West Dunham Street, known as the Bremen Iron and Metal Company, for the readon that they do not have a State <br />license nor a City License to operate. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Tellson asked when the Railroad Companies would repair their crossings. Mr. Andrysiak, City Engineer, <br />stated that he has been in contact with the Railroad Companies and they have promised to take care of these crossings <br />as soon as the weather breaks and it is feasible to proceed with repairs. <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Tellson made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Hahn <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Regular Meeting of the Common Council adjourned at 9-:31 P.M. <br />ATTEST: <br />FREDA G.
