Hahn <br />!Vlembe-r of the Common Council <br />DATED: December 8, 1958. <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion for adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. Resolution adopted. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion, seconded by Councilman Muszynski, that the City License for the Bremen Iron and <br />Metal Company be withheld until investigations can be made in regard to numerous complaints against the company. <br />Also, that the matter be referred to the Board of Public Works and Safety. Motion carried. <br />Mrs. John Cackley, Mrs. Elmer Navarre and others from the League of Women Voters inquired about sub - standard dwell <br />and asked that a list be made of those which have been investigated. Councilman Kroll made a motion that the <br />Building Commissioner, Verner Lane, appear before the Council at their next meeting, December 22, to make a report <br />on sub- standard dwellings; said report to include how many dwellings have been demolished and how many have been <br />brought up to standard within the past two and a half years. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />Councilman Christman made a motion to add to Councilman Kroll's Motion, that Mr. Lane also show in his report the <br />homes owned by absentee owners, as well as the ownership of sub- standard dwellings under inspection. Councilman <br />Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Board of Public Works and Safety direct the Police Department to enforce <br />the Inter -City Truck Route Ordinance Immediately. Councilman Kroll seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />In Re: Election of Chairman of Committee of the Whole. <br />Councilman Erhardt nominated Councilman Joseph Kroll. Councilman Erler moved that the nominations be closed. <br />Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Erler made a motion that the Clerk be instructed to cast an unanimous ballot for Councilman Kroll. <br />Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Kroll made a motion that Verner Lane, the Building Commissioner give a report of what has been done on <br />sub - standard housing during the past year, and to be present at the December 22nd meeting of the Council to explain <br />his report and answer any questions. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Christman mentioned the fact that many of the homes are owned by absentee owners and asked that owners <br />be listed as well as the homes; and not only the owners on Sample Street by any other areas under investigation. <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the City Attorney study the Motor- Scooter Ordinance received from Aurora, Illino <br />and that a similar ordinance by drafted an presented at the meeting of December 22nd. Councilman Christman second( <br />the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Hahn made a motion to adjourn.
