t�uvu a�cas� <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE PROTECTING THE PUBLIC HEALTH, PROVIDING FOR THE CUTTING <br />OF WEEDS AND DISPOSAL THEREOF, INCLUDING NUISANCES AND PROVIDING FOR <br />THEIR ABATEMENT AND MATTERS RELATING THERETO. <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that <br />the Ordinance be set for public hearing on August 11, 1958. Councilman Hahn seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION <br />[WHEREAS, it is provided under the Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana adopted in 1949, <br />Chapter 157, Section 402, page 416, that upon the approval of the Common Council, the health officer may receive <br />financial assistance from the State Government provided the conditions under which the grant is made are submitted <br />to and approved by the State Board, and <br />WHEREAS, the State Health Board has approved the granting of the sum of Five Thousand ($5,000.00) Dollars <br />to the health officer of the City of South Bend for the use of the Health Department of the City of South Bend in <br />its program for the aged. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend that it approve the receipt <br />by the health officer of the City of South Bend for the Health Department of the City of South Bend in its program <br />for the aged, the sum of Five Thousand ($5,000.00) Dollars from the State of Indiana Health Department. <br />This resolution shall become immediately effective upon its passage. <br />/s/ Walter C. The President called for a roll call vote for the adoption of the Resolution. <br />Resolution adopted by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />OLD BUSINESS: made a motion and <br />Councilman Kroll, as Chairman of the Traffic Committee, /said he would ask Mr. Sabo to write to all Railroads to set <br />up a meeting to discuss the repair of grade crossings within the City and to set a definite time limit of 30 days <br />in which these grade crossings.must be repaired. Councilman Carr seconded the motion and suggested that the <br />meeting with the Railroads be expedited within the next ten (10) days. Motion carried. <br />The Clerk was directed to send a notice of the motion to Mr. Sabo, and also to Mr. Andrysiak, City Engineer. <br />Councilman Glass requested that an addendum be drawn up to be attached to the lease between the Municipal City of <br />South Bend and the Franternal Order of Police for the Police Pistol Range (Ordinance Number 4233), which should read <br />as follows: <br />"Lessee herein is authorized to tear down the structures now found on the premises, provided <br />that Lessee should replace such structures with suitable structures subject to the approval of <br />the Lessor ". <br />(Mr. Smith to prepare this addendum and present it to the Board of Public Works and Safety for approval). <br />Councilman Glass put the above in the form of a motion. Councilman Christman seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the.Council, councilman Hahn made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Carr <br />seconded the motion.
