41 <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 9, 1958 <br />Councilman Tellson complained that rubbish and debris are being thrown into the St. Joseph River and down the river <br />banks. Councilman Glass concurred with Councilman Tellson and cited instances namely, a building being torn down <br />at 23rd Street and Mishawaka Avenue, with materials hauled to and dumped into the river, and also the Humping at the <br />site of the Indiana University Extension Building on Northside Boulevard. Councilman Erler stated that fill dirt <br />was being deposited on the banks at Twyckenham Drive and Lincolnway East to extend property. <br />Councilman Carr made a motion that the Ordinance prohibiting the dumping of any rubbish in the river be enforced <br />immediately. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried and the Clerk was directed to notify the <br />Police Department and the Board of Public Works and Safety of the action taken. <br />Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the next Regular Meeting of the Council be held on July 14, 1958. Councilman <br />Christman seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business before the Council, Councilman Kroll made a motion to adjourn.
