REGULAR MEETING <br />REGULAR MEETING (Cont.) <br />PETITIONS (Cont.) <br />Petition requesting issuance of bonds (Cont.) <br />OCTOBER 11, 1971 <br />" That she is duly elected, qualified and acting City Clerk of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, and that the petition requesting the issuance of bonds of said City is an amount not <br />exceeding One Million Six Hundred Thirty Thousand Dollars ($1,630,000) for the purpose of pro- <br />curing funds to be applied on the cost of the improvement of the City owned property known as <br />the Morris Civic Auditorium, 'including but not limited to the installation of heating, ventila- <br />ting and air - conditioning equipment; the acquisition, improvement and development of land as a <br />site for a civic center within an area bounded by Michigan Street, Wayne Street, LaSalle Street <br />and the St. Joseph River; the construction of streets, curbs, sidewalks, and sewers, including <br />the acquisition of any necessary land, easements and rights -of -way in connection therewith with- <br />in an area North of Lincolnway West, West of Bendix Drive, and South of the Northern Indiana <br />Toll Road, all within the City of South Bend, Indiana; and, to the extent of funds remaining, <br />the acquisition of land as a site for and the construction and equipment of a fire station; to- <br />gether with the expenses in connection with all of the foregoing including engineering, archi- <br />tectural, appraisal, abstracting, title insurance, and legal fees, and the expenses and legal <br />fees incidental to the issuance of said bonds, is in her custody and possession. <br />That said petition consists of twenty -two counter -parts each counter =part having attached <br />thereto the affidavit of the person circulating said counter -part; that said petition is signed <br />by six hundred thirty -six owners of taxable real estate, as shown more particularly by the <br />certificate of the Auditor of St. Joseph County attached hereto. <br />That attached hereto are full, true and correct copies of counter -parts No. 1 and No. 2, <br />and the verifying affidavits pertaining thereto, and that said two counter -parts are signed by <br />more than fifty owners of taxable real estate located in the City of South Bend, as shown more <br />particularly by said Auditor's certificate; that counter -parts No. 3 to 22 are identical in form <br />and substance to the two counter -parts attached hereto except as to the names and addresses of <br />the signers thereof. <br />/s/ Kathryn L.
