<br />AN ORDINANCE SUPPLEMENTING ORDINANCE NO. 4268 -59
<br />(Municipal Code Chapter 20) BY ADDING A NEW ARTICLE
<br />DEALING WITH VACANT STRUCTURES AND PROVIDING FOR A
<br />PENALTY.
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Zielinski
<br />made a motion, seconded by Councilman Szymkowiak, the Ordinance be set for Public hearing on
<br />June 22, 1970. Motion carried. Councilman Allen asked the Clerk tc notify Messrs. West and Adam-
<br />son of the Building /to be present at the public hearing.

<br />INDIANA, PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF A
<br />BASIC BUILDING CODE.
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Reinke
<br />made a motion, seconded by Councilman Grounds, the Ordinance be set for Public hearing on
<br />June 22, 1970. Motion carried.

<br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, PROVIDING FOR THE STAN-
<br />DARDS OF ACCEPTED ENGINEERING PRACTICE OF
<br />PLUMBING SERVICES GENERALLY.
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in* full. Councilman Zielinski
<br />made a motion, seconded by Councilman Reinke, the Ordinance be set for Public hearing on
<br />June 22, 1970. Motion carried.

<br />11 -18, ORDINANCE NUMBERS 3913, SECTION 7,
<br />AND 4537 -62, SECTION 3, OF THE MUNICIPAL
<br />CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
<br />PROVIDING FOR STANDARDS FOR INSTALLATION OF
<br />ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT GENERALLY.
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Grounds
<br />made a motion, seconded by Councilman Szymkowiak, the Ordinance be set for Public hearing on
<br />June 22, 1970. Motion carried.
<br />RESOLUTION
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 239 -70
<br />RESOLUTION OF COOPERATION TO ESTABLISH A
<br />RESOURCE SERVICES CENTER FOR DISPENSING OF
<br />SERVICES TO THE CITIZENS OF SOUTH BEND AND
<br />SURROUNDING AREAS, AS AMENDED.
<br />WHEREAS, health and welfare services for the needy are scattered throughout the City
<br />of South Bend and,
<br />WHEREAS, a large percentage of the citizens of Portage Township, served by the Depart-
<br />ment of Health, the Department of Public Welfare, the Township Trustee, and the Legal Aid Society
<br />reside in the City of South Bend,
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />agree to co- operate with the County Commissioners of St. Joseph County to review the necessity
<br />and method of providing a building to centralize the services departments into one location
<br />which is easily accessible to all citizens, which will contain a master file listing all recipi-
<br />ents of the various services and the departments rendering such services, and which will con-
<br />solidate and co- ordinate all services.
<br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE Common Council of the Civil City of South Bend, Indiana,
<br />this 8th day of June, 1970.
