REGULAR MEETING APRIL 13, 1970 <br />ORDINANCES, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING <br />ORDINANCE 4990.- CHAPTER 40 OF MUNICIPAL <br />CODE (Formerly Zoning Ordinance 3702), <br />AS AMENDED. (East side of Ironwood, <br />Topsfield Subdivision) <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Palmer <br />made a motion that the Ordinance be set for Public hearing on May 11, 1970. Councilman Craven <br />seconded the motion. Councilman Grounds <br />made a motion that the Ordinance be set for Public hearing on May 11, 1970. Councilman <br />Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Councilman Craven <br />made a motion that the Ordinance be set for Public hearing on May 11, 1970. Councilman Zielinski <br />seconded the motion. (South side of Jackson Road, <br />East of Miami) <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Grounds <br />made a motion that the Ordinance be set for Public hearing on May 11, 1970. Councilman <br />Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />of <br />Councilman Allen asked that the Wastwater Treatment Plant submit a report /their projected income <br />and expenses for the coming year., and the report of income and expenses for 1969 as required by <br />ordinance. <br />Councilman Allen thanked Utilities Director John Hunter for the information sent to each Council- <br />man regarding the application he submittedtcEhe government for State and Federal funds for the <br />Pollution control project for South Bend. Councilman Laven stated that the resolution passed <br />by the Common Council sometime ago was still valid and the application would not have to be <br />submitted to the Council for adoption.. She also recommended that the St. Joseph County Board of <br />Commissioners consider the now abandoned Morris School as a possible site for the Multiple <br />Resources (Welfare) Center. <br />Council - President Laven commended the activities of the South Bend Police Department the past <br />week for the recent arrest of gamblers. He also praised Prosecutor William E. Voor, Jr. for <br />co- operating with the police and for conducting training sessions to enlighten police officers <br />regarding circumstances under which police may arrest gamblers without a search warrant. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Zielinski moved for <br />adjournment.
