SPECIAL MEETING OCTOBER 7, 1968 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in S'ecial Session in City <br />Hall on Wednesday, October 7, 1968 at 8:20 P.M., -in:-the Council Chambers. The meeting was called to order <br />by Rbbett 0 . Laven, President <br />ROLL CALL <br />PRESENT Councilmen, Laven, Allen, Craven, Reinke, Grounds, <br />Szymkowiak, Wise, Palmer, and Zielinski. <br />ABSENT None <br />The Council then went into the Committee of the Whole with William W. Grounds, Chairman, presiding. <br />The meeting was called for consideration of the following Ordinance: <br />AN ORDINANCE TO CREATE A CUMULATIVE SEWER <br />BUILDING AND SINKING FUND TO BE KNOWN AND <br />DESIGNATED AS THE SEWAGE TREATMENT, STORM <br />SEWER AND DISPOSAL PLANT FUND, AND PROVIDING <br />FOR A TAX LEVY OF $.25 ANNUALLY FOR A PERIOD OF <br />TWELVE (12) YEARS, AS AMENDED. <br />Councilman Laven said a lot of confusion has arisen on the matter and in order to clarify this they proposed <br />to suggest an amendment to amend the dates in Section Three so they can recieve the money in 1969 and hold <br />public hearing on October 21, 1968. He also stated the Ordinance has been advertised for public hearing <br />tonite and if anyone has anything to say to do so now. Councilman Grounds asked for anyone to ask questions <br />Concerning the Ordinance. There were none. Miss Virginia Guthrie, executive secretary of the South Bend <br />
