REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 14, 1972
RESOLUTION NO. 322 -72 - ATTACHMENTS
of July 28, 1972 "
Mr. Aaron H. Huguenard, Jr., President
South Bend School Board
635 South Main Street
South Bend, Indiana
Dear Mr. Huguenard:
..Our Commission has an application from Koszegi Leather and Vinyl Products, Inc.
of South Bend, Indiana for an industrial revenue bond issue of $300,000 for the
purposes of expansion, additional land purchase and the acquisition of new
machinery and equipment at their present location on South Chapin Street.
At the present time, this corporation employs approximately seventy people in the
South Bend, St. Joseph County area, and with the future expansion expects to
employ an additional fifty people which would benefit the community through increased
employment. This increased employment would be from people already living in the
area and therefore be of no additional burden to the school system.
It is our understanding that the utilities necessary to service this expanded facility
would be readily available and therefore there will be no additional cost to the city
by virtue of this project. Likewise, police and fire protection requirements would
not be changed from present requirements.
In accordance with the Economic Development Act, State of Indiana, our Commission is
to forward a statement of public service to the school corporation havein jurisdiction
of the area in which the facility is located.
We would appreciate your approval in the near future.
