Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />Council President Nemeth entertained a motion to waive the reading of the Committee of the Whole <br />report, so moved by Councilman Horvath, seconded by Councilman Parent, and carried unanimously. <br />ORDINANCES, THIRD READING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5392 -72 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE ANNUAL SALARIES OF CERTAIN <br />PERSONNEL OF THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY, <br />AND APPROPRIATING THE MONIES THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER <br />RELATED PURPOSES. <br />This ordinance was given third reading. Councilman Serge made a motion for passage of the <br />ordinance, seconded by Councilman Szymkowiak. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine <br />ayes (Councilmen Serge, Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and <br />Nemeth) . <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5400 -72 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NEW ACCOUNT WITHIN THE <br />1972 BUDGET FOR _ HE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />"DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT ", ACCOUNT NO. YY -11, 'SERVICES PERSONAL" <br />AND TRANSFERRING THERETO THE AMOUNT OF $7,500 FROM <br />THE FOLLOWING ACCOUNT: "CITY CEMETERIES DEPARTMENT!', <br />ACCOUNT NO. N -12, 'SERVICES PERSONAL' ", ALL BEING <br />WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND. <br />This ordinance was given third reading. Councilman Kopczynski made a motion that the ordinance <br />be passed as amended, seconded by Councilman Szymkowiak. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote <br />of eight ayes (Councilmen Serge, Szymkowiak, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and <br />Nemeth) one nay (Councilman Miller). <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5402 -72 AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $175,000.00 FROM <br />THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND TO THE ACCOUNT <br />"SERVICES CONTRACTUAL" WITHIN THE LOCAL ROAD <br />AND STREET FUND. <br />This ordinance was given third reading. Councilman Kopczynski made a motion that the ordinance <br />pass, seconded by Councilman Newburn. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes <br />(Councilmen Serge, Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and Nemeth). <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5403 -72 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $180,000.00 FROM <br />THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND TO THE ACCOUNT <br />"SERVICES CONTRACTUAL" WITHIN THE LOCAL ROAD <br />AND STREET FUND. <br />This ordinance was given third reading. Councilman Kopczynski made a motion for passage of the <br />ordinance, seconded by Councilman Szymkowiak.
