REGULAR MEETING JULY 1 n J q79 L REGULAR MEETING RECONVENED RESOLUTION NO. 628 -78 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING $40,220.00 FROM ACCOUNT 722.0 MOTOR EQUIPMENT, TO ACCOUNT 726.0 OTHER EQUIPMENT, ALL ACCOUNTS BEING WITHIN THE SAME MAJOR CLASSIFICATION OF THE MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY SPECIAL DISTRIBUTION BUDGET OF THE MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY SPECIAL DISTRIBUTION FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, ADMINISTERED THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the exist- ing budget, so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was originally appropriat- ed in the budget for the various functions of City Government to meet such extraordinary condit- ions, and WHEREAS, additional funds are needed for Account 726.0, Other Equipment, to enable the Department of Public Works to properly perform its functions; and WHEREAS, a surplus exists in another account where it is not presently needed. This surpl is shown more specifically as follows, to -wit: $40,220.00 in Account 722.0, Motor Equipment NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend: SECTION I: That the Account 722.0, Motor Equipment, be reduced by $40,220.00, and of this $40,220.00, e appropriated and transferred to 726.0, Other Equipment. SECTION II: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and its approval by the Mayor. Mary Christine Adams Member of the Common Council A public hearing was held at this time on this resolution. Mr. Michael Vance, Deputy Controller, indicated that this transfer will enable the Street Department to purchase snow removal equip- ment, primarily plows and associated hydraulic systems. Council Member Dombrowski made a.motion to adopt this resolution, seconded by Council Member Szymkowiak. The resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of seven ayes. BILLS, FIRST READING BILL NO. 108 -78 A BILL APPROVING THE FORM AND TERMS OF FIRST SUPPLEMENTAL LOAN AGREEMENT, FIRST SUPPLEMENTAL MORTGAGE AND INDENTURE OF TRUST AND INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION THEREOF PERTAINING TO CHAR - KING, INC. This bill had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to set this bill for public hearing and second reading July 24, 1978, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried. BILL NO. 109 -78 A BILL AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68; AS AMENDED, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (CHAPTER 21, MUNICIPAL CODE) (NORTHEAST CORNER OF PLEASANT AND IRONWOOD,. CITY OF SOUTH BEND, ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA). This bill had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to refer this bill and petition to Area Plan, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried. BILL NO. 110 -78 A BILL APPROPRIATING $53,000.00 FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUND FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH THE DIVISION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS. This will had first reading. Council Member Adams made a motion to set this bill for public hearing and second reading July 24, 1978, seconded by Council Member. Dombrowski. The motion carried. BILL NO. 111 -78 A BILL APPROPRIATING $2,126,000.00 FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUND (URGENT NEEDS GRANT) FOR THE "MINI- MALL" PROJECT TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, THROUGH ITS DIVISION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND THE DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOP - MENT. This bill had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to set this bill for public hearing and second reading July 24, 1978, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried.
