<br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING (CONTINUED) 
<br />This being the time heretofore set for pubic hearing on the above bill, proponents and opponent: 
<br />were given an opportunity to be heard. Mr. John Stancati, Director of Utilities, made the pre- 
<br />sentation for the bill. He said these chemicals will be used for purification of water and 
<br />additives beneficial to health. He said bids were let pursuant to thestatutes of the State of 
<br />Indiana and were found competitive. Council Member Serge made a motion to-fecommend this bill 
<br />to the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. 
<br />There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Council Member Tayl 
<br />made a motion to rise and report to the Council, seconded by Council Member Serge. The motion 
<br />carried.

<br />INDIANA, APPROVING THE LEASING OF SEWAGE DISPOSAL FACILITIES 
<br />OF CLAY UTILITIES, INC. 
<br />BILL NO. 26 -77 A BILL APPROPRIATING $92,985.00 FROM FUND 30, COMMONLY 
<br />KNOWN AS THE DEPRECIATION FUND OF THE BUREAU OF WATER, 
<br />TO LINE 30.0710, COMMONLY DESCRIBED AS BUILDING STRUCTURES

<br />Council Member Taylor made a motion to send these three bills to the Utilities Committee,second 
<br />by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried, with Council Members Szymkowiak and Miller 
<br />opposing.

<br />A BILL AMENDING CHAPTER 5, ANIMALS, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE 
<br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. 
<br />Council Member Adams .made a motion to send this bill to the Public Safety Committee, seconded 
<br />by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried. 
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 6164 -77 
<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $27,950.00 FROM THE FEDERAL 
<br />ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMMONLY KNOWN AS GENERAL REVENUE 
<br />SHARING, FOR VARIOUS ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE PROGRAMS 
<br />TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS 
<br />DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE. 
<br />This bill had second reading. Council Member Miller made a motion to amend the FA number to 13 
<br />seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. Council Member Taylor made a motion to 
<br />pass the bill, as amended, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The bill passed by a roll ca 
<br />vote of eight ayes. 
<br />BILL NO. 67 -77 A BILL FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES OF APPOINTED 
<br />OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 
<br />FOR THE YEAR 1978., 
<br />Council Member Adamd. made a motion to amend the bill, as amended in the Committee of the Whole, 
<br />seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. Council Member Adams made a motion to continue public 
<br />hearing and second reading on this bill until July 18, 1977, seconded by Council Member Dombrow 
<br />The motion carried. 
<br />BILL NO. 68 -77 A BILL FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES OF APPOINTED 
<br />OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 
<br />WITHIN THE DIVISION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOR THE YEAR 
<br />FROM JULY 1, 1977, TO JUNE 30, 1978. 
<br />Council Member Adams made a motion to continue public hearing and second reading on the bill, 
<br />until July 18, 1977, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. 
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 6165 -77 
<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $2,300 FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE 
<br />GRANT, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR 
<br />EQUIPMENT REPAIR AT MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM, TO BE ADMINISTERED 
<br />BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF 
<br />ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE.
