<br />ORDINANCE NO. 5998 -76 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $35,400 FROM THE
<br />FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY REFERRED
<br />TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING FOR VARIOUS
<br />ADMINISTRATIVE PROGRAMS TO BE ADMINISTERED
<br />BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPART-
<br />MENT OF ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE.
<br />This ordinance had second reading. Council Member Kopczynski made a motion to pass the ordinance,
<br />seconded by Council Member Szymkowiak. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes
<br />(Council Members Serge, Szymkowiak, Miller, Taylor, Kopczynski, Adams, Dombrowski, Horvath and
<br />Parent) .

<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $3,000.00 FROM THE
<br />FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMMONLY REFERRED
<br />TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR VARIOUS
<br />PUBLIC SAFETY PROGRAMS TO BE ADMINISTERED BY
<br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS FIRE DEPART-
<br />MENT.
<br />This ordinance had second reading. Council Member Dombrowski made a motion to pass this ordinance
<br />seconded by Council Member Adams. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes (Council
<br />Members Serge, Szymkowiak, Miller, Taylor, Kopczynski, Adams, Dombrowski, Horvath and Parent).
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 6000 -76
<br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN
<br />THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN
<br />LAND. (18181 and 18163 Ireland Road).
<br />This ordinance had second reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to pass this ordinance,
<br />seconded by Council Member Kopczynski. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes
<br />(Council Members Serge, Szymkowiak, Miller, Taylor, Kopczynski, Adams, Dombrowski, Horvath and
<br />Parent).
<br />Council Member Parent made a motion to recess the meeting, seconded by Council Member Kopczynski.
<br />The meeting recessed at 10:32 p.m., and reconvened at 10:45 p.m.
<br />Council President Parent announced that this evening Councilman Miller did not obey his call to
<br />order. He said that furthermore he has a responsibility as a public official to be very careful
<br />about any accusations made to another person. He said his behavior in caucus by reading a news-
<br />paper is not exemplary of a City Council Member and therefore he was taking the following action;
<br />"I strip him of the commitee chairmanship on the Law and Ordinance Committee, and take him off th
<br />Sub - committee on Minutes."
<br />RESOLUTIONS
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 526 -76 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROVING THE AWARDING
<br />OF ONE CONTRACT IN EXCESS OF $5,000 FOR RE-
<br />HABILITATION WORK IN THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
<br />PROGRAM.
<br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of Ordinance No. 5872 -75, passed by the South Bend Common Counc
<br />on August 11, 1975, all contracts under the Community Development Housing Program in excess of
<br />$5,000 must be approved by the Common Council; and
<br />WHEREAS, the low bid for 36 properties to be rehabilitated under the Community Development
<br />Housing Program has exceeded $5,000.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana:
<br />1. That approval be granted to the Redevelopment Commission of the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana to enter into a contract with Charles Brown Maintenance Service for the rehabilitation of
<br />the following properties in accordance with project specifications of the Housing Allowance
<br />Elderly and Handicapped Referrals Program:
