230; Y'° 3 REGULAR MEETING BILL NO. 135 -81 NOVEMBER 23, 1981 A BILL APPROPRIATING $3,950.00 FROM THE DISCOVERY HALL FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR RENTAL OF STORAGE SPACE FOR THE STUDEBAKER COLLECTION TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE. This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to set this bill for public hearing and second reading December 14, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The mtoion carried. PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR T. Brooks Brademas, a local developer, spoke against the demolition of the Odd Fellows Building. He indicated he could rehab the Odd Fellows Building. He asked that the demolition be delayed. Ron Radecki, 123 S. St. Peter, representing Southhold, spoke against the demolition. Kathryn Brookins, 701 W. LaSalle, spoke against this demolition. Si Brazy, 1136 Helman Dr., spoke agianst the demolition of the Odd Fellows Building, and the use of this land as a bus terminal. Council President McGann indicated he had sent a letter to the president of the Redevelopment Commission, putting forth the concerns raised by Mr. Brademas and Mr. Raker, and asked that they not award the demolition contract until the Council's Human Resources and Economic Development Committee has a chance to schedule a meeting between the interested developers, RedeveloF Commission and the Redevelopment Staff. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Reports from Area Plan, Bill No. 87 -81 and 103 -81. Council Member Beck made a motion to set these bills for public hearing and second reading December 14, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, Council Member Dombrowski made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Taylor.
