REGULAR MEETING JUNE 27, 1981 BILLS, FIRST READING BILL NO. 61 -81 A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 2 -2 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, ENTITLED ADOPTION OF RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE CMMON COUNCIL AND POWERS THERETO. This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to set this bill for public hearing and second reading July 13, seconded by Council Member Crone. The motion carried. BILL NO. 62 -81 A BILL APPROPRIATING $500,000.00 FROM THE CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND TO PROJECT CS 811, OLD CLEVELAND ROAD SANITARY SEWER, WITHIN THE CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND. This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to set this bill for public hearing and second reading July 13, seconded by Council Member Voorde. The motion carried. BILL NO. 63 -81 A BILL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND SETTING FEES CHARGED BY THE SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR CERTAIN SERVICES. This bill had first reading. Council Member Voorde made a motion to set this bill for public hearing and second reading July 13, and refer it to the Personnel & Finance Committee, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried. BILL NO. 64 -81 A BILL APPROPRIATING $285,000.00 FROM THE WATER WORKS GEN- ERAL FUND FOR CONTRACTUAL SERVICES CONVERSE /TEN -ECH AND APPROVING THE AWARD OF CONTRACTS AND EXPENDITURES FOR SER- VICES BY CONVERSE TEN -ECH. This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to set this bill for public hearing and second reading July 13, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried. Council Member Crone made a motion to refer this bill to the Utilities Committee, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried. PRIVILEDGE OF THE FLOOR John Gleva, 5039 E. Packard, indicated that the South Bend Tribune had printed a story that the City was going to pay $47,200 for fire truck engines He said that was too much money. Richard Hill, City Attorney, indicated that amount also included complete refurbishing of a pumper.unit. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Report from Area Plan: Bill No. 47 -81, 2501 Mishawaka Ave. Council Member Beck made a motion to set this bill for public hearing and second reading July 13, seconded by Council Member Crone. The motion carried.
