Beck <br />Member of the Common Council <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1336 -85 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOt H <br />BEND DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY COMMO Y <br />KNOWN AS 3603 PROGRESS DRIVE AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZAT N <br />AREA FOR PURPOSES OF PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT .I <br />WHEREAS, a petition for personal property tax abatement consideration has bee <br />filed with the Common Council of the City of South Bend, requesting that the area <br />commonly known as 3603 Progress Drive, South Bend, Indiana, and which is more <br />particularly described by a line drawn as follows: <br />A tract or parcel of land located in the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast <br />Quarter of Section 33, Township 38 North, Range 2 East, more particularly <br />described as follows: Beginning at a point which is One Hundred Ninety -five <br />and Eighteen Hundredths (195.18) feet North and Eight Hundred Fifty -five and <br />Fifty -four Hundredths (855.54) feet Easterly of the center of said Section 33, <br />said point being on the North line of Progress Drive; thence North 0019'51" <br />East a distance of Four Hundred Sixty -eight and Seventy -three Hundredths <br />(468.73) feet to the South line of the St. Joseph County Airport; thence South <br />89059151" West a distance of Four Hundred Seventy and Sixty -five Hundredths <br />(470.65) feet to the North line of Progress Drive; thence North 89040109" Wes <br />a distance of Four Hundred Thirty -nine and Seventy -one Hundredths (439.71) fee <br />to the point of beginning. <br />be designated as an Economic Revitalization Area under the provisions of Indiana <br />Code 6 -1.1- 12.1 -1, et seq.; and <br />WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission has concluded an investigation and <br />prepared a report with information sufficient for the Common Council to determine <br />that the area qualifies as an Economic Revitalization Area under Indiana Code <br />6- 1.1- 12.1 -1, et seq., and has further prepared maps and plats showing the <br />boundaries and such other information as required by law of the area in questions; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Human Resources and Economic Development Committee of the Common j <br />Council has reviewed said report and recommended to the Common Council that the areda <br />qualifies as an Economic Revitalization Area. iI <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South <br />Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION I. That the Common Council hereby accepts the report and recommenda <br />of the Human Resources and Economic Development Committee that the area herein <br />described be designated an Economic Revitalization Area and hereby adopts a <br />resolution designating this area as an Economic Revitalization Area for purposes <br />personal property tax abatement. <br />SECTION II. That this designation shall be limited to five (5) calendar year <br />from the date of the adoption of this resolution by the Common Council. <br />SECTION III. That the Common Council directs the City Clerk to cause notice <br />the adoption of this resolution to be published, said publication providing noti <br />of the public hearing before the Common Council on said declaration. <br />SECTION IV. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after <br />its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />/s/ Beverlie J. Mark Pajakowski, <br />President of Automatic, indicated they were requesting real and personal abatement <br />to expand their facility. He indicated their company was experiencing the need fo <br />newer technological equipment and larger size presses. Council Member Serge made <br />motion to adopt Resolution No. 1335 -85, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The <br />resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of nine ayes. Council Member Zakrzewsk <br />made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 1336 -85, seconded by Council Member Taylor. <br />The resolution was adopted by a roll call vote nine ayes. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1337 -85 <br />AN INDUCEMENT RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE EAST RACE <br />HOUSING PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 18- 6 -4.5, the Common Council of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana created the South Bend Economic Development Commission, which <br />Commission, following an investigation and survey, has determined that a need exis <br />in the community for additional job opportunities and commercial and industrial <br />diversification. That in order to improve and promote job opportunities, commerci <br />diversification, and the general welfare of the community, a financing agreement <br />should be entered into with T.
