Beck Member of the Common Council RESOLUTION NO. 1336 -85 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOt H BEND DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY COMMO Y KNOWN AS 3603 PROGRESS DRIVE AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZAT N AREA FOR PURPOSES OF PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT .I WHEREAS, a petition for personal property tax abatement consideration has bee filed with the Common Council of the City of South Bend, requesting that the area commonly known as 3603 Progress Drive, South Bend, Indiana, and which is more particularly described by a line drawn as follows: A tract or parcel of land located in the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 33, Township 38 North, Range 2 East, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point which is One Hundred Ninety -five and Eighteen Hundredths (195.18) feet North and Eight Hundred Fifty -five and Fifty -four Hundredths (855.54) feet Easterly of the center of said Section 33, said point being on the North line of Progress Drive; thence North 0019'51" East a distance of Four Hundred Sixty -eight and Seventy -three Hundredths (468.73) feet to the South line of the St. Joseph County Airport; thence South 89059151" West a distance of Four Hundred Seventy and Sixty -five Hundredths (470.65) feet to the North line of Progress Drive; thence North 89040109" Wes a distance of Four Hundred Thirty -nine and Seventy -one Hundredths (439.71) fee to the point of beginning. be designated as an Economic Revitalization Area under the provisions of Indiana Code 6 -1.1- 12.1 -1, et seq.; and WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission has concluded an investigation and prepared a report with information sufficient for the Common Council to determine that the area qualifies as an Economic Revitalization Area under Indiana Code 6- 1.1- 12.1 -1, et seq., and has further prepared maps and plats showing the boundaries and such other information as required by law of the area in questions; and WHEREAS, the Human Resources and Economic Development Committee of the Common j Council has reviewed said report and recommended to the Common Council that the areda qualifies as an Economic Revitalization Area. iI NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Indiana, as follows: SECTION I. That the Common Council hereby accepts the report and recommenda of the Human Resources and Economic Development Committee that the area herein described be designated an Economic Revitalization Area and hereby adopts a resolution designating this area as an Economic Revitalization Area for purposes personal property tax abatement. SECTION II. That this designation shall be limited to five (5) calendar year from the date of the adoption of this resolution by the Common Council. SECTION III. That the Common Council directs the City Clerk to cause notice the adoption of this resolution to be published, said publication providing noti of the public hearing before the Common Council on said declaration. SECTION IV. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. /s/ Beverlie J. Mark Pajakowski, President of Automatic, indicated they were requesting real and personal abatement to expand their facility. He indicated their company was experiencing the need fo newer technological equipment and larger size presses. Council Member Serge made motion to adopt Resolution No. 1335 -85, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of nine ayes. Council Member Zakrzewsk made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 1336 -85, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The resolution was adopted by a roll call vote nine ayes. RESOLUTION NO. 1337 -85 AN INDUCEMENT RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE EAST RACE HOUSING PROJECT WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 18- 6 -4.5, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana created the South Bend Economic Development Commission, which Commission, following an investigation and survey, has determined that a need exis in the community for additional job opportunities and commercial and industrial diversification. That in order to improve and promote job opportunities, commerci diversification, and the general welfare of the community, a financing agreement should be entered into with T.
