Demolition & Removal <br />• Carefully remove all existing porch railings (approx. 60 linear feet), preserving <br />surrounding structure <br />• Remove three sets of existing stair railings (approx. 30 linear feet total) <br />• Remove four structural porch posts supporting the overhead roof structure <br />• Dispose of all debris generated from removal work <br />2. Structural & Carpentry Work <br />• Install four new 4x4 pressure-treated structural posts, anchored securely to the porch <br />deck and overhead framing <br />• Fabricate and install custom 6x6 decorative wood wraps around each 4x4 post using <br />primed select pine or cedar <br />• Apply decorative trim (top and bottom) to each post base and capital for historical <br />character <br />• Construct and install new porch railing (~60 linear feet) using wood balusters and <br />top/bottom rail system in a historically appropriate style <br />• Build and install new railing systems on all three staircases, matching the porch railing <br />style: <br />o Stair 1: 33" wide <br />o Stair 2: 78" wide <br />o Stair 3: 72" wide with extension out 66" <br />• Use corrosion-resistant fasteners, wood glue, and brackets as required for durability and <br />code compliance
