Roll was called.
Commissioner David Wyncott (NAY): (No reason required).
Commissioner De Kever (AYE): My reasoning here is that the condition of the garage,
particularly the slab and the walls, was such that it was restorable and could have been
saved.
Commissioner Hough (AYE): I am also voting aye, because it could have been saved had
it come before the Commission based on conditions that were reflected based on video or
photography prior to its demolition.
Commissioner Andrews (AYE): For reasons already stated by my fellow Commissioners.
Commissioner Downs -Krostenko (AYE): Ditto from what Sarah said.
Vote: 5-1. Four in favor, one opposed.
COA #2025-0707-1 is DENIED.

Pursuant to South Bend Municipal Code Section 21-13-02(e)(5)(B), an applicant may appeal a denial of a
Certificate of Appropriateness by the Historic Preservation Commission to the Common Council, which shall
make a final determination of the application.
The Historic Preservation Commission remains committed to preserving the built environment of the City of
South Bend and unincorporated St. Joseph County.
Please contact this office for assistance, questions, or concerns.

Sincerely,

Ross Van Overberghe
Historic Preservation Administrator
rvoverberghe@southbendin.gov
