East Res. <br />* Funds are subject to the City Controller's determination of availability; if funds are unavailable, as solely determined by the City Controller, then the <br />authorization of the expenditure of such funds shall be void and of no effect. <br /> <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: Adopt Amending Resolution to provide for the expansion of the River West Development <br />Area <br /> <br />SPECIFICS: On June 12, 2025, the Redevelopment Commission (RDC) authorized a notice of public meeting <br />regarding the Lincoln and Kennedy Park Residential Housing Development Program Allocation Area within the <br />River West Development Area. <br /> <br />At the July 24, 2025, RDC meeting, Staff will present the Declaratory Resolution along with the Plan Amendment, <br />and the Commission will vote on whether to adopt it, effectively beginning the expansion process and creation <br />of the Lincoln and Kennedy Park Residential Housing Development Program Allocation Area. <br /> <br />If adopted, the expansion process includes the following steps (dates subject to change): <br /> <br />- 7/24/25: Redevelopment Commission - Amending Declaratory Resolution, adopt Plan Amendment <br />- 8/18/25: South Bend Plan Commission - Plan Commission Order to approve the Amending Declaratory <br />and the Plan Amendment <br />- 8/25/25: South Bend Common Council – Resolution to approve Plan Commission Order <br />- Upon Plan Commission and Common Council approvals, notices will be mailed and published for a public <br />hearing at the 9/11/25 RDC meeting <br />- 9/11/25: Redevelopment Commission – Confirmatory Resolution confirming the Amending Declaratory <br />Resolution and Plan Amendment, public hearing <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> _________________________Pres/V-Pres <br /> <br />ATTEST: __________________Secretary <br /> <br />Date: ____________________ <br /> <br /> APPROVED Not Approved <br />SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
