Thanks.
The window in the dormer is one of the ones in the quote. I believe they are all about the same size.
Yes, all the windows are aluminum clad on the outside, to help with durability. They will be painted to match the rest of
the house. We have similar windows which were installed on the first floor in the kitchen and bathroom, which
replaced unsuitable windows which were installed by the prior tenant.
We are looking to replace the attic windows on the sides and back of the house. The windows which are currently
there are not original windows and are not functional. They were probably replaced by the previous owner without
commission approval. The two side windows (circled in red) do not open. The back window opens outward to the back
of the house and presents a hazard since there is a drop to the porch roof. It is also not original, since that entire back
side was damaged by fire.
Attached are the photos of the windows. Please let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks,
Jenn

On Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 04:33:52 PM EDT, Kate Himick <khimick@southbendin.gov> wrote:
Hi Jenn,
I have reviewed your COA applicaon.
Here's how I would break down your works:
1. Replacement and repair of fire damaged and unsafe raers and the installaon of a new asphalt
shingle roof (CertainTeed Landmark).
2. Addion of a gabled dormer on the southwest face of the roof. The window be a Marvin
aluminum-clad wood window, siding to be wood to match exisng siding, and dormer roof to be
asphalt shingle to match the rest of roof.
