It was built in 1940 and <br /> economic growth renovated in 1993, with portions of the aging property still in need of further cost <br /> prohibitive improvements. This would improve the former Studebaker manufacturing <br /> facility by taking unusable areas and converting it into high-demand, leaseable industrial <br /> space. <br /> This will be accomplished with abatement/demolition of the former aviation engine test <br /> cells, which are obsolete. The test cells were previously used for testing Boeing's B-17 <br /> Flying Fortress engines produced during World War II, but no longer support this function <br /> and hinder access.
