Peninsulas <br />Peninsulas of unincorporated land bordered by more than 50% but <br />less than 100% of the corporate limits are located throughout the <br />City. These peninsulas contribute greatly to the confusing <br />corporate limits and the efficiency of providing certain municipal <br />services. <br />Peninsulas can consist of Individual lots or larger clusters of <br />unincorporated parcels. Two large peninsulas include the <br />Ardmore Area generally bordered by Lincolnway West on the <br />north, Grandview Avenue on the east and Conrail on the south <br />and the area previously attempted for annexation north of the <br />U.S. 20/31 Bypass and east of Linden Road. Several smaller sized <br />peninsulas are located near the Ireland Road/Ironwood Road <br />intersection; just west of Miami Highway between Jackson Road <br />and Johnson Road; and, between New Cleveland Road and Brick <br />Road to the west of Portage Avenue. The entire southwest <br />annexation area previously described could also be viewed as a <br />peninsula. <br />Like the unincorporated islands, peninsulas should be considered <br />for priority annexation. Their timing for annexation, however, <br />should not distract from other annexations. <br />59 <br />
