ANNUAL REPORT 2024 <br />GREENER HOMES <br />In 2024, the Offi ce of Sustainability in collaboraƟ on <br />with enFocus and the Community FoundaƟ on of St. <br />Joseph County launched the Greener Homes retrofi t <br />pilot program that assists low to moderate income <br />homeowners with subsidized energy-effi cient home <br />upgrades. The program has assisted 13 homes for <br />HVAC, weatherizaƟ on, and electrifi caƟ on projects. <br />URBAN & COMMUNITY <br />FORESTRY GRANT <br />Through the Offi ce of Sustainability, the City <br />received in 2024 a 5-year, $1.87M grant from the <br />USDA Forest Service. The Offi ce of Sustainability <br />is currently facilitaƟ ng the implementaƟ on of <br />the grant with next being the consolidaƟ on and <br />enhancement of nursery sites to allow for scaled <br />tree producƟ on in 2025. <br />USDA Tree Grant Nursery <br />EASSI Assessment: IFF representaƟ ve Donna Sink <br />using a thermal imaging camera to check for vari- <br />aƟ ons in temperature while conducƟ ng a building <br />energy assessment of the History Museum. <br /> EASSI Ribbon Cuƫ ng - Ceremony at Fire Arts celebraƟ ng the energy <br />effi cient upgrades completed on their building. They received a building <br />energy assessment and over $8,500 in matching grants from the EASSI <br />program to install new LED lighƟ ng and energy effi cient windows. <br />53 <br />OFFICE OF SUSTAINABILITY
