36 <br />DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY INVESTMENT <br />ENGAGEMENT & ECONOMIC <br />EMPOWERMENT <br />NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS <br />Neighborhood associaƟ ons conƟ nue to be the <br />backbone of organizing and engaging residents <br />in South Bend. 2024 saw the creaƟ on of one <br />new associaƟ on, Woodlawn, bringing the total <br />number of associaƟ ons to 27. EEE staff aƩ end <br />neighborhood associaƟ on meeƟ ngs across the <br />City on a monthly basis. <br />To share resources and neighborhood <br />informaƟ on across the City, eleven <br />Neighborhood Reports were distributed, <br />with a total of over 6,900 views via email. <br />Neighborhood reports provide neighborhood <br />updates, upcoming City events, new City <br />resources, and other events and resources in <br />South Bend in a newsleƩ er-formaƩ ed email. <br />The Neighborhood Toolkit conƟ nues to serve <br />Neighborhood AssociaƟ ons with necessary <br />resources, grant opportuniƟ es, and Ɵ ps to <br />run and organize a successful Neighborhood <br />AssociaƟ on. Featured as an online informaƟ on <br />guide, the Neighborhood Toolkit contains <br />services for Neighborhood AssociaƟ ons that <br />need a Zoom account, informaƟ on on becoming <br />a 501(c)(3) organizaƟ on, and funding for prinƟ ng <br />and signage. <br />The Engagement and Economic Empowerment (EEE) team’s mission is to empower South Bend residents <br />through access to opportuniƟ es. The EEE team accomplishes this mission through three priori Ɵ es: <br />1. PromoƟ ng meaningful civic engagement; <br />2. Removing barriers to opportuniƟ es; and <br />3.
