Eric Petersen, Chairman <br />of the Board of Petersen Printing, indicated his company was experiencing the need <br />for larger operating facilities, as well as newer technological equipment. He <br />indicated their professional personnel, traditional commitment to superior quality <br />and flexible techniques has enable them to prosper and grow. He indicated their <br />growth can only be made through continued capital improvements. Council Member <br />Voorde made a motion to adopt, Resolution No. 1479 -87, seconded by Council Member <br />Barcome. The resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of nine ayes. Council <br />Member Zakrzewski made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 1480 -87, seconded by Council <br />Member Paszek. The resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of nine ayes. <br />BILL NO. 87 -17 A RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO THE MODIFICATION OF THE BOUNDARY OF THE <br />ENTERPRISE ZONE IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />Council Member Beck made a motion to strike this resolution, seconded by Council <br />Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 87 -17 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY COMMONLY KNOWN AS <br />329 - 331 -333 S. MICHIGAN STREET AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREAS <br />FOR PURPOSES OF REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT. <br />Council Member Puzzello made a motion to continue public hearing until March 23, <br />seconded by Council Member Barcome. The motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1481 -87 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, RECONFIRMING THE PERIOD OF DEDUCTIONS <br />APPROVED FOR THE DESIGNATIONS OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES <br />PREVIOUSLY QUALIFYING AS ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREAS <br />FOR PURPOSES OF PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C., 6 -1.1- 12.1 -1 et seg, and local ordinance regulations, <br />the Common Council has reviewed various petitions requesting personal and /or real <br />property tax abatement; and <br />WHEREAS, proper notice with regard to the necessary Declaratory Resolutions and <br />Confirming Resolutions as well as reports from the Department of Economic <br />Development and the Human Resources and Economic Development Committee have been <br />completed pursuant to applicable provisions of Sections 2 -76 through 2 -79 of the <br />Municipal Code of the City of South Bend; and <br />WHEREAS, discussions have taken place between the City of South Bend and the <br />Auditor's Office of St. Joseph County whereby it was agreed that a reconfirming <br />resolution should be appropriate in order to clarify the periods of deductions <br />previously authorized for certain property tax abatements. <br />WHEREAS, the following resolution carries out that objective. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council if the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION I. The Common Council hereby reconfirms the following areas previously <br />designated as Economic Revitalization Areas for purposes of real and /or personal <br />property tax abatement and reconfirms the periods of time authorized for deductions: <br />(1) a.
