v <br />BILL NO. 83 -91 A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS THROUGHOUT CHAPTER 6 OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE ENTITLED "BUILDINGS." <br />Council Member Luecke made a motion to continue public hearing and second reading on <br />this property until January 27, seconded by Council Member Coleman. The motion <br />carried. <br />BILL NO. 84 -91 A BILL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA APPROPRIATING <br />$260,000.00 FROM THE CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Council Member Puzzello <br />reported that the Personnel and Finance Committee had met on this bill and <br />recommended it to the Council favorable. Jeff Rinard, City Auditor, made the <br />presentation for the bill. He indicated this appropriation would be used to reduce <br />the flooding problems associated with Bowman Creek. He indicated the funds would be <br />used for widening the creek and for design work to improve drainage in the Chippewa <br />Street area. Vickie Black 1218 E. Dayton and Chris Skodinski, 3221 Voll Lane, spoke <br />in favor of the bill. Council Member Coleman made a motion to recommend this bill <br />to the Council favorable, seconded by Ladewski. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 85 -91 A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />APPROPRIATING $321,707.00 FROM THE EMS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Council Member Puzzello <br />reported that the Personnel and Finance Committee had met on this bill and <br />recommended it to the Council favorable. Chief Taylor made the presentation for the <br />bill. He indicated this appropriation would be used to make the final payment on <br />the Midi and Quint fire trucks as well as other equipment to enhance the <br />Department. Council Member Coleman made a motion to recommend this bill to the <br />Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Duda. The motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Council <br />Member Luecke made a motion to rise and report to the Council, seconded by Council <br />Member Coleman.
